Data protection
The Stroudwater Textile Trust (STT) complies with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when dealing with all data received from STT Members, customers or visitors to our website. Data is used only for the purposes described on this page.

Our services
We do not request or use more data than is necessary to provide you with a proper service. This means we only process and hold data related to membership and purchases and subsequent support related to those purchases, in accordance with GDPR. Any processing of your data is done only to provide the products or perform the services you have requested.

Required period
We hold personal data only for as long as necessary. Once data is no longer needed, we delete it.

Card and payment processing data
STT does not have access to or store any card or payment information, as we use third-party payment providers to handle card and payment processing data securely. Other data is used only to process your purchase securely. In keeping with what is permitted under GDPR, we retain data related to all purchases for the purpose of fulfilling our existing legal obligations with regard to tax and VAT (where applicable).

Backup and data storage
For administrative reasons, Members’ data, customer data and email subscription data may be passed to and stored securely with third-party service providers located outside the EEA (European Economic Area). This is done to backup and preserve your data where it is needed to continue to offer a service to you.

Member/customer requests
As a Member of STT, or a customer, you can at any time (and free of charge) request details of the data we hold relating to you – and you can also ask for your data to be amended or deleted. Please note: if you ask us to delete your data, this may prevent us from offering any further support relating to your membership or previous purchases.

Email communication
We regularly communicate by email with anyone who has signed up for our mailing list or who has agreed via their membership application to receive emails from us. All our email newsletters include instructions on how to unsubscribe, but please note that, once you have unsubscribed, STT cannot reinstate your details and you will need to opt in again.

We never send bulk unsolicited email (spam).

Data sharing
We never sell, rent or exchange data with third parties unless we have first obtained your prior approval, or we are required to by law.

Cookies
Our website uses ‘cookies’ to track use and allow customers to purchase from our website. Such cookies do not contain or pass on any personal, confidential or financial information or any other information that could be used to identify individual visitors to our website. Please note that you are free to refuse cookies. However, for purely technical reasons, this may prevent you from purchasing from our website. This is because anonymous cookies are commonly used to keep track of the contents of customers’ shopping baskets or trolleys during the checkout process. This facility ensures that the items added to (or removed from) your basket are accurately stated when you go to pay.
