Volunteering

There are many ways of getting involved in volunteering with the Stroudwater Textile Trust. From welcoming visitors to our mills to sparing a few hours to work at home or to help restore historic machine, your support is really important to us, and you will find volunteering both enjoyable and rewarding. Training and advice are always given.

Below is a link to a short video where some of our current volunteers speak for themselves. Do take a few moments to watch this, and to read through the list of volunteering possibilities. Then click on the button to complete the enquiry form and maybe meet us for a chat to discuss how you can help. The future of the Trust rests with its volunteers.

Welcome visitors or act as a guide at our mills.
Learn how to run and restore our historic machinery. Would you like to train on our Dobcross power-loom?
Are you a dyer, weaver, or spinner? Would you be willing to give demonstrations or help at a specialist display?
Help with our education programme and our school visits.
Work in our dye garden.
Help to catalogue and conserve our unique archive.
Assist with administration. Would you be interested in serving on a committee or becoming a trustee?
